The South Bend Animal Care and Control is hosting a pet fair this Saturday from 10 am until 3 pm at their facility located at 521 Eclipse Place. Admission is free.

“We want to help dog and cat owners raise healthy pets,” says SBACC Manager Matt Harmon. “In addition to providing vaccinations, we will also implant microchips, increasing the chance of your dog or cat being returned if lost.”

Animal Control says that they will provide 100 free rabies vaccinations on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents will also have the chance to enter raffles, visit various pet vendors, and license and microchip their pets. Costs for these services start at $15.

Residents can also take advantage of the $31 “Happy Howl-O-Ween” adoption special running through the end of October. The special includes spaying or neutering, rabies and kennel vaccinations, dewormer and flea treatment, microchip, and first-time license for South Bend residents.

Regular adoption rates are $65 for cats, $85 for dogs, and $100 for puppies.
