South Bend seeking public’s input for 2020 budget

South Bend’s municipal government is inviting residents to attend a public meeting regarding the city’s upcoming 2020 budget.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 24 from 6 PM until 8 PM. It is set to take place inside of the Bendix Theater at the Century Center in downtown South Bend.

Residents are encouraged to learn about the budget process during a 30-minute presentation and provide input of what they would like to see included in next year’s budget. Afterward, residents will have an opportunity to speak with city officials.

South Bend’s budget process typically takes place over several months. In October, the Common Council approves the budget for the next fiscal year.

The city’s approved budget for 2019 is $368 million. You can find out more about the 2019 budget here.
