Lunch with the League welcomes Anne Mannix of Neighborhood Development Associates, LLC.
Mannix will speak about “Affordable Housing Issues in South Bend and What We Can Do.” The event will take place on January 10, 2020, at noon at the South Bend Chocolate Café, 122 N. Michigan, South Bend.
The talk will cover issues with persons who are homeless and the state of affordable housing in South Bend and will include a discussion of options for providing more affordable housing and stabilizing neighborhoods. Ms. Mannix notes, “With the new administration and renewed interest in housing issues, now is the time for all of us to talk and work together to develop effective solutions to these long-standing issues.”
Anne Mannix is a housing consultant and developer and has worked with development of affordable housing since the early 1980s. Her experience includes development of affordable rental housing, cooperative housing, housing for persons that are homeless, and redevelopment of urban neighborhoods. Since 1997, her consulting organization has assisted with the development of 25 low-income housing tax credit projects with values of over $162 million. Anne lives with her husband, Richard Williams, in a historic house in South Bend’s Near West Side neighborhood.
Lunch with the League is a program of the League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area, a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
