The Colfax Avenue Bridge in downtown South Bend will have restricted access on Friday, March 5.
“Lane restrictions will be in place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the designated dates and streets listed below. Both streets will remain open to traffic but will be restricted in the construction zone. Motorists should expect delays,” the city says.
According to the Department of Public Works, a crane will be placed on the bridge to “install anchored signage warning anyone recreating in the St. Joseph River of the dam, both up and downstream.”
Friday’s traffic restrictions extend from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Sycamore Street. Jefferson Boulevard Bridge had restricted traffic on Thursday for the same reason.
