Nearly a thousand customers are without power in Elkhart County as of 6 p.m. on Monday, July 7 after a squirrel got into an Indiana & Michigan Power substation. A spokesman for the utility said that power was knocked out around noon to over 4,000 customers.

The company says that 102 customers remain without power in Berrien County. That outage was from last Monday’s storm. The last few South Bend customers to have their power restored were back online earlier today.
