Transpo to Provide Bus Service on Good Friday

South Bend Transpo new compressed natural gas buses

Transpo says that the public transit agency will operate its buses on Good Friday this year. The region’s largest public transportation system has in the past observed the Christian holiday by shutting down operations.

This year Transpo will be operating all of its regular fixed routes, as well as its paratransit Access service for those with disabilities.

The Information Booth will be open regular hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, Transpo’s administrative offices will be closed.

“Over the last few years, we have received feedback from our ridership and community partners requesting service on Good Friday,” says David Cangany, Transpo General Manager. “We listened to their concerns and felt it was important to make Good Friday a regular service day for Transpo.”

More information, including route maps and time schedules, can be found on their website.
