Prosecutor to announce findings in Eric Logan shooting, city to host forum

County-City Building

The special prosecutor investigating the fatal officer-involved shooting of Eric Logan is expected to announce his findings on Friday at 11:00 AM. Ric Hertel – who serves as the prosecutor of Ripley County – was appointed special prosecutor last July.

Additionally, South Bend’s city government will host what it is calling a “community conversation forum.” The forum is focused on the findings in the special prosecutor’s investigation of the fatal police shooting of Eric Logan.

“Members of the public are welcome and will be provided an opportunity to speak,” a post on the city of South Bend’s municipal government Facebook page says.

The first forum will be held inside of the County-City Building on the fourth floor. It is set to begin at 3 PM on Friday, March 6. Mayor James Mueller, South Bend Police Chief Scott Ruszkowski, and other community leaders will be in attendance.

A second forum will be held next Thursday, March 12. The exact time and location for that forum are yet to be determined.
