The League of Women Voters and the American Democracy Project are hosting a series of debates for the upcoming Congressional, state, and county elections.
“We are delighted to be able to bring these political debates to people despite the pandemic,” said Dr. Elizabeth Bennion, Director of Voter Services and Engagement for the League and Campus Director of IU South Bend’s American Democracy Project. “We are especially excited about the unprecedented partnership between the League, the APD, and all of the major news stations in our area.”
Here is the upcoming schedule:
St. Joseph County Commissioner (District 2)
Who: Oliver Davis, Jr. (D) and Derek Dieter (R)
When: Friday, October 2, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Indiana Senate (District 8)
Who: Michael Bohacek (R) and Gary Davis (D)
When: Friday, October 16, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.

Who: Pat Hackett (D) and Jackie Walorski (R)
When: Wednesday, October 28, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
How to Watch: This debate will be aired live on ABC57, WNDU, WNIT, WSBT, and WVPE (public radio). It will also be livestreamed on these stations’ websites and social media platforms.
