Pete Buttigieg to keynote SXSX Online

Pete Buttigieg is headlining this year’s SXSW conference. South Bend’s former mayor and the current Transportation Secretary is one of several keynote speakers.

“U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will emphasize SXSW’s continued focus on how technological innovations are transforming mobility,” says Hugh Forrest, Chief Programming Officer for SXSW.

Buttigieg was sworn in as President Biden’s Secretary of Transportation last month. He is one of several notable speakers at this year’s virtual conference. Others include President George W. Bush, Stacey Abrams, Willie Nelson, Chance the Rapper, and Don Lemon.

SXSW Online 2021 looks at the intersection of technology, entertainment, culture, and beyond. The digital event is held from March 16 to March 20, 2021. Once again, the conference is online-only this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Registration, pricing, and the schedule of events is available at sxsw.com.
