Ivy Tech postpones classes until March 23, rest of spring semester to be online

Ivy Tech Community College

Ivy Tech is among local schools and universities moving instruction from in-person to virtual due to coronavirus.

Classes will restart on March 23. When they resume, they will be online for the remainder of the spring semester.

“Students should check IvyLearn leading up to March 23 for instructions on their courses,” Ivy Tech president Sue Ellspermann says.

Ivy Tech’s campuses throughout the state will remain open for students. This will ensure access to computers and other essential services. For instance, students will be able to meet with advisors, admissions, faculty, and financial aid.

“Accommodations will be made for labs, clinicals, and some technology courses to meet in groups of 10 or less if social distancing can be assured. Information regarding such meetings will be provided to students from their faculty,” the school said in a news release.

At this point, Ivy Tech has not announced any changes regarding its spring commencement ceremonies. The school will update students at ivytech.edu/coronavirus.html.
