If you plan on taking the South Shore Line this month, you’ll want to know about a few service changes including several cancellations.
The commuter rail service between South Bend International Airport and downtown Chicago is undergoing maintenance. Specifically, this affects service between South Bend and Michigan City.
“Passengers will be bused between Carroll Ave. Station and the South Bend International Airport beginning 8/2 and lasting through 9/3/21. Service to Hudson Lake is suspended during busing. No bikes will be transported via bus,” the South Shore states on their website.
In addition, the following trains are canceled between Michigan City and South Bend: Westbound Train 422 and 424, Eastbound Train 401, 701, and 703.
If you plan on arriving in Chicago, you should also know that the Metra Van Buren Street Station elevator is temporarily out of service. The best alternatives are Millennium Station and the Museum Campus/11th Street Station.
