Today is your last chance to register to vote in Indiana if you plan to vote in the May 5 primary. You can check your voter registration information on the IndianaVoters.in.gov website.

If you need to register or change your address, the good news is that it is not too late. While the voter registration office at the County-City Building will close at 4:30 pm, you can register to vote online until midnight. Online voter registration can be accessed at IndianaVoters.in.gov.

Additionally, you can mail in a voter registration application as long as it is postmarked April 6.

Anyone registering to vote must meet these basic requirements:

  • You must be a United States citizen.
  • You must be 18 years old or older on Election Day.
  • You must have lived in your precinct continuously for at least 30 days before the next election (except for certain military voters).
  • You must not be currently imprisoned for a criminal conviction.

Early voting begins tomorrow across the state of Indiana. St. Joseph County residents can vote at the County-City Building in downtown South Bend or the County Services Building in Mishawaka.

Early voting hours are below:

Monday – Friday, April 7 – May 1, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 25 and May 2, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Monday, May 4, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon

Remember to bring a valid photo ID with you when you vote! These include an Indiana driver’s license, state ID, passport, military ID or an Indiana state university ID with an expiration date.
